Instructions
The purpose of this assignment is to prepare you as future APRNs to communicate your professional role and clarify the difference between APRNs and other advanced practice healthcare providers. Once you have presented this, you will work on making this more concise and compelling since you will be asked these questions in your new role.
Using Screencast-O-Matic, Zoom, or YouTube, create a video that is 3 to 5 minutes in length and shows your face and uses your voice. Answer the following questions:
What is a Nurse Practitioner?
How does a Nurse Practitioner differ from a Physician Associate?
How does a Nurse Practitioner differ from a Physician?
Why don’t you just become a physician?
If you have never recorded a presentation, Screencast-O-Matic is a free, easy-to-use tool recommended for this purpose. Instructional videos on how to use Screencast-O-Matic are available at Screencast-O-Matic Help Videos.
After your recording is complete, follow these instructions to create an unlisted YouTube video. You will need the YouTube video URL for this assignment. The best way to submit your YouTube video URL is to copy and paste the hyperlink URL for the YouTube video into a Microsoft Word document and submit this to this assignment. Your faculty will access your video via the link. Do not upload a video file (mp4).
This assignment requires you to use at least three scholarly references. You may utilize a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation when recording your video and include your references on the last slide or you may submit a Microsoft Word document with the link to your video and include the references there.
Remember that your face and voice must be present in this assignment per the grading rubric.
Please refer to the Grading Rubric for details on how this activity will be graded.
